We are looking for a responsible, thorough, and hardworking Cleaner/Housekeeper to join our team at a high-standard facility (e.g., heritage hotel, resort, premium office) in Kayamkulam. The ideal candidate must be highly reliable, committed to maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and capable of working efficiently within the standards of Kerala’s hospitality sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Comprehensive Cleaning: Clean and sanitize all assigned areas meticulously, including guest rooms/offices, traditional common areas, washrooms, and high-touch surfaces, strictly following the scheduled daily and weekly checklists.
Aesthetic & Property Maintenance: Perform detailed dusting, polishing of wooden furniture (common in traditional Kerala properties), glass surfaces, and floor polishing to maintain a professional and welcoming appearance.
Waste Management: Execute proper waste disposal procedures, including timely collection, sorting of materials, and ensuring external areas (gardens, verandas) are kept tidy.
Hospitality Support: Monitor and promptly restock all necessary amenities and cleaning supplies (e.g., local toiletries, fresh linen) in guest areas and shared facilities, reporting inventory shortages efficiently.
Hygiene & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to all health, hygiene, and sanitation protocols, which is vital for guest and employee well-being. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Equipment & Local Care: Maintain all cleaning tools and equipment in excellent working order. This includes the ability to efficiently sweep and maintain traditional tile or stone floors common in the area.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Literacy: Basic reading skills are preferred for understanding simple cleaning schedules and safety instructions.
- Technical Skills: Proven ability to handle and use various cleaning supplies and equipment safely and effectively.
- Physical Stamina: Excellent physical strength and stamina required to perform demanding cleaning tasks efficiently throughout shifts.
- Attributes: High sense of responsibility, punctuality, self-discipline, and a polite, accommodating demeanor suitable for a hospitality environment.
- Communication: Fluency in Malayalam is mandatory; a basic understanding of English is beneficial for communicating with diverse guests/supervisors.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience: 1–3 years of verifiable experience in hotel room attendant roles, resort housekeeping, or similar large-scale cleaning/maintenance roles, preferably within Kerala.
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the proper care and maintenance of traditional Kerala furniture, linen, and flooring materials.
