We are seeking a disciplined, highly responsible, and skilled Driver to join our team in the Kayamkulam/Alappuzha coastal region. The ideal candidate must possess excellent driving skills, a thorough knowledge of Kerala’s State Highways and coastal routes, and the ability to transport passengers (often guests/clients) or goods safely and efficiently while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and punctuality.
Key Responsibilities:
Safe Transportation: Safely and punctually drive company, client, or guest vehicles to assigned destinations, primarily across the Alappuzha, Kollam, and Pathanamthitta districts.
Navigation Expertise: Efficiently navigate State Highways, local roads connecting backwater areas, and market zones, selecting the safest and most time-efficient routes using local knowledge and GPS tools.
Compliance: Strictly adhere to all Kerala MVD (Motor Vehicles Department) and local traffic rules, road safety guidelines, and regulations at all times.
Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain the vehicle in impeccable, clean condition, manage fueling schedules, and conduct regular pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure mechanical soundness, especially given the exposure to coastal humidity.
Documentation: Accurately track trip details, routes, distances, and timings, and maintain meticulous logbooks as required for commercial vehicles or fleet management.
Professional Conduct: Transport passengers or goods with utmost care, maintaining a polite, discreet, and professional demeanor, essential when interacting with tourists or business clientele.
Reporting: Promptly report any mechanical defects, maintenance issues, traffic incidents, or operational delays to the supervisor.
Qualifications & Skills:
- License: Valid Kerala Driving License (LMV – Light Motor Vehicle) or appropriate Commercial Vehicle Endorsement/License (e.g., Badge) is mandatory.
- Route Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of NH 66 segments, the Kayamkulam – Punalur route, and local roads leading to major landmarks like Krishnapuram Palace, boat jetties, and major temples/churches in the region.
- Behavior: Excellent communication skills, polite behavior, and the patience and composure required for navigating two-lane highways and rural traffic.
- Language: Fluency in Malayalam is mandatory; working knowledge of English is highly desirable for interacting with tourists.
- Integrity: Demonstrated reliability, honesty, and responsibility.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience: 3–7 years of professional driving experience, preferably for tour operators, resorts/hotels, or senior management within the Kerala region.
- Vehicle Types: Specific experience with the class of vehicle being driven (e.g., standard sedans, Innova/large MUVs common in the tourism sector).
- Local Logistics: Familiarity with long-distance driving to Kochi, Trivandrum, or high-range areas.
