Mermaid Statue

Location: Situated near the Kayamkulam Boat Race Finishing Point and the KSRTC Bus Station, right by the shore of Kayamkulam Lake (Kayal).

Significance: It is often promoted as the largest mermaid statue in Kerala, though there is another, more famous, Guinness World Record-holding statue in Thiruvananthapuram.

Dimensions: It is a large concrete sculpture, cited as being approximately 26 feet (8m) high and 35 feet (10.6m) long.

Sculptor: The statue was created by the State Youth Award-winning sculptor, Johns Kollakadavu.

Project Context: The statue was developed as a part of the Kayamkulam Lake tourism project to enhance the aesthetics of the area and attract visitors to the backwaters and boat race finish point.
